Charitable Events

Thru my membership with the local Chamber, I am constantly approached by Charities for donations for their Silent Auctions. There's no way I can give them a gift certificate for a party, there's too many & I'd go broke working for Free! Anyone have any suggestions on what I could donate that would be of value & still bring attention to my business?

Also, do you all have suggestions on how your charge differently for charitable events? I know there are several different ways ppl have done them. Trying to figure out what they are so I can figure what would work best for myself.

I will give away a $10.00 tat or bring something to give.

When I do those, I will setup free and give a 30 - 50% depending on event.

.

I have given several 1 hour parties for silent auctions. and i have to say they have really paid off. They tend to take advantage of the time thing, but i generally either get really good tips (even though i say no thanks) or i get really good bookings from them. The higher the tcket price to the silent auction the better i have done with it. It's only a little of my time and the payout for me has been pretty good. P.s, the worse attitude i have about one, like mad about them assuming i'm there forever. the better i come out. Which then makes me feel BAD! lol.
