Airbrush parts
This was originally under the Peak X3 thread, but I thought I would move it to its own thread, and hopefully get some input.
About parts It looks like the Peak has parts that look identical to the Iwata Eclipse; are they? I am most interested in the o ring (Head cap/Handle “O” ring) is it the same? I seem to remember that it was (the same), but it has been awhile. I am asking because BearAir has them for $1.00 as opposed to the $5-$12 that everyone wants for the Iwata one. It is part #5 Thanks! Checked on mine
I have both a X-3 and about 9 Eclipses. Part #19, if that's what you mean about the handle...they are interchangeable. Can thread X-3 part 19 to Eclipse body and vice-versa.
The X-3 head cap, the parts you have circled in your drawing, will not thread onto the Eclipse. However, the Eclipse will thread onto the X-3. I have no idea what those end caps might do to mismatched needles or cones. If its only the O-ring, and only that, I'd think they are switchable as they stretch a bit and still retain their function. My WAG is the end cap threads are not identical but are so close it will thread X-3 to Eclipse but not Eclipse to X-3. If it's only the 0-ring, take yours down to a shop that makes hydraulic fittings and ask them to match them. You don't care what the O-ring compound is as it only has to be impervious to water and alcohol, not the myriad of fluids used in hydraulics. The one closest to me, strangely enough, is called "O-ring Supply." jim |

I am only talking about the o-ring, or washer. I took it to a few places and at the plumbing place where I get all my other rings/washers, we searched through this HUGE book to no avail. Which is why I was so excited to find it at Bearair.
I always take off the o-ring on the body that goes in the alcohol, so they are in pretty good shape. I want to replace all of them, though, and I'd like to have a handful of them. ![]() Ladyoh |

The Plumbing
supply outfit is not the place to look. They have quite a few O-rings to fit all the valves in plumbing equipment but they have nothing compared to a real O-ring supply business.
My experience has been the O-ring supply business will take the O-ring off and measure the inside diameter. the outside diameter, and the diameter/thickness of the O-ring itself. Their measurement tool is probably accurate to .01 of an inch. They will ask what it's will be in contact with and how much pressure will be applied to it, so they get the right rubber compound. Then they'll ask how many you want and will go in the stock area and bring them out to you. If you buy in quantity, like a 100 or more, you get a discount...usually. Call several businesses in your area first to make sure they stock them. If that fails, go to the internet and look for them. If you do that, make sure you have some way to accurately measure them so you can order the correct ones. A good dial caliper can accurately measure ID and OD as well as thickness. Good luck! jim |

Looked at
The O-ring on the handle portion that covers the needle chucking nut and needle, and it too has an O-ring. That one has no real function other than to keep that handle from vibrating loose. Looks like they might be interchangeable in an emergency case. Might want to check that as a back-up. jim

when I ordered the same part for my Eclipse from Bearair, they sent the one they use, which is for the Peak X3. Same o-ring, different package.
BTW, You will spend more $$ in gas going to all the diff places to find this o ring than just spending the $1.00 and purchasing from BearAir. Hope that helps
