Mixing Inks
I have been using TCP Kuston ink for about a year, I am now going to try EBA ink. I have some Kuston pink and purple left. I only bought the 5 basic colors from EBA and was wandering if I'm not so good at making those 2 colors on the body, would it work out ok to mix the 2 different brands on the body, also using the Proendura clear coat. I have had good luck with Kustom(some last 2 weeks). My test with EBA didn't seem to last as long, but we'll see what happens. I use a 7 multi gun system.
Thanks Rick Last edited by rthitoff : November 14th, 2010 at 02:04 PM. |

Don't mix inks
From what I have been reading in other posts, don't mix brands of inks.

I thought you could mix them, as long as they were the same make-up. Ie. all of the alcohol based paints are inter-mixable with one another. And the water-based paints are inter-mixable with one another. But, don't mix an alcohol paint and water based paint together.
I could be wrong though... |

Rick it sounds like you want to use up the ink. And you are wondering if you can spray EBA and TCP on the same tat. I would think you could. But if you are taking about taken EBA and TCP and mixing them together in one bottle then the answer is no. Just because its alcohol based ink doesn't not mean the inks are the same and can be mixed. If you use TCP and want to spray over duratat it would cause the duratat to run.
Inks are not inter mixable. They have different formulas and base ingredients.

I guess I thought you were saying mixing them to mean spraying both brands simutaneously on a tat...not actually mixing them in the bottle. My bad...

Yea
I was going to keep it in separate bottles just use different brands on the skin. Like spray TCP red over EBA yellow to make orange.
