I have a simple contract that I use when booking private events but I am wondering what is the one line in your contract that you would NEVER remove? for example I got burned last year by a large clothing store and spent countless hours playing " collection" games in the end I finally did get my payment but I never recovered any of the costs of collection so I added this to my contract :

"The client agrees to pay the balance due, upon the arrival of the artist at the event; unless alternative payment arrangements have been agreed to by the artist prior to the date of the event. If the balance is not available prior to the artist setting up, the artist reserves the right to leave. The client is responsible for any and all collection costs for delinquent payments."

Wow, I'm still new at this. I didn't think about contracts. Would anyone care to share one with me? Saves me trying to re invent the wheel.
My email is kjlloyd1@aol.com
thanks!!

I just used a contract that I found on the forum...and just modified it a bit. I put payment is required 72 hours in advance of party (on my website...and will stick with that for the most part)...and must clear my bank before start of party. However, I just did an event for a school carnival last Friday...where I put they were to cut me a check (because I collected only tickets from the guests) at end of event. At the end, they had no means to cut me a check, and I got the check from the school's non-profit organization yesterday. Although, I am definitely not up to taking this risk in the future...I will occassionally for a school....and depending on how my pay-out is supposed to go.

PM me if you can't find the contract...because I do not know how to upload my version of it here???:):):)
