I think a light weight portable stand would be a great idea! Something with wheels and affordible to keep your compressor, color pallet, ink, cords and stencils in. A drawer or two for your small supplies like alcohol and cotton balls, airbrush tools, gloves...you name it. Then it is all contained in one place. The wheels would be nice to roll it from the truck or car to the set up site. This way if you are doing a show by yourself, you can close it all up and lock down. The worry would be less when you go to take a bathroom or lunch break! I do these shows alone and always worry about my things when I don't have my truck near to lock it all up in! Needless to say I don't get to take many breaks! Then you could even put a patio umbrella on it if you don't have a tent. That would give a little shade for the customer getting the tattoo. I have all my things in different boxes and end up making many trips back and forth to get it all and get all set up. Just a thought!

Yeah something like that, my husband thinks I need to find a ice cream cart. I think that kind of cart would be to much. At least to load and unload by myself! Just a way to keep every thing out of sight and lock it all up, so you can walk away if you need to.

This is what we use and it is lite weight and portable and holds just about everything that you could use to airbrush and is under $70. You can't attach a umbrella to it but it makes a nice box to hold all your stuff. This box can hold pp,air compressor, swabs, cotton pads, alcohol, paper towels, baby powder, mirror, clipboard (for holding down paper towels), cleaning board, stencil material, knife, stencil cutting board, can of dust off (for cleaning airbrush), business cards, and much more. I tried the tool boxes but it didn't look as professional as I would like. I want to look like a professional not a mechanic. The other reason I like this is because I have a bad shoulder and had a lot of problems lifting the tool boxes in my truck.

Home Depot for $80 each. They have a handle and wheels for easy mobility. The whole thing slides backwards to open which is a great feature. The top is a large compartment where I keep my stencil box, powder and swabs. The middle layer has a bunch of small compartments with plastic sliders you can move around to make small or large compartments. Very convenient, portable and professional looking. I use a car dash cleaner to keep them looking fresh and new. The cool thing about it is that everything stays inside the box while you are doing your gig except for the compressor. The compressor is air-cooled so it has to be outside or it will overheat. I just put it behind and under the box. The holes cut into the sides and back are for the ink line and air hose to pass through.

I was using the toolbox idea also! To heavy, and like you said, I'm not wanting to look like a mechanic! I am using a plastic tub with wheels on it now, I found at Walmart. Works ok. Your's looks a little bit more handy! I just thought a cart of somekind that could actualy convert into your booth would be a nice set up. All in one place.

a cart or stand. But it was so heavy, it was lockable and a umbrella could have been attached to it, and it was on wheels but the weight is what got me looking for some thing liter. I got this stand from a salon that went out of business it was a work station on wheels, had a 7 inch deep top compartment w/lid and had 2 doors on the bottom that could lock. Back then we used the big air compressor. At first we use 2 airbrushes on the compressor, until that day we discovered that it could not put out enough air to run both guns at the same time. In the picture it shows the tat station with the expressyourself poster on it.

Thats more like what I was trying to describe. Just smaller. Like the little box next to your stand in the picture. Something a little bigger than that. A place to keep everything together, with wheels so you can move it around. Then if it is out doors add an umbrella to it. I think you are with me now!

someone on the site made a table top to fit on his rolling cart (like a fatmax, only metal looking). I thought that it was a great idea. Unfortunately I can not find the picture, and I've been looking in the gallery. Maybe the owner will 'stand up'?

by typing "metal" in the Search box. It comes up under Box for Moving Stuff by mkymws. The link works from his post but not when I copied it into here. The Search tool works if you are creative in your search "keywords".

Here, I found on this website what I was trying to describe. How I found it, I don't know! Ebay has a strange way of letting you click your way to anywhere! These listed are kinda expencive, but are the closest to what I was trying to explain. I thought it would be nice to offer this as a product, when you purchase a system, have the option to purchase something like this for a complete set up.
Take a look and tell me what you think.http://www.europeanbodyart.com Then click on systems.

I don't know what I did wrong, but it won't go to the web site by clicking on the link. Sorry! I guess you'll have to type it in if you want to look at it. I am trying to figure this all out!

I saw the same box at Home Depot. What do you use to hold you stencils? The current boxes I use will not fit into the box.

a file box to hold the stencils. I know it probably wouldn't fit.

I was trying to describe something like the small box/table they have the umbrella stuck in. That is the closest thing I could find a picture of.

I got the fatmax toolbox franco suggested and it is a little piece of heaven. It fits everything I need. I would like to find a nice holder for my color changer that would fit in the bottom. Any suggestions?

saw the holes in my Fatmax, but I cut holes in the front, sides and back. The compressor has to come out of the box or it will overheat. I put the compressor behind the box and run the air hose into the box and plug it into the PP. The ink line comes out of the hole in front and then you put your airbrush on. This way, everything is contained inside the Fatmax with the exception of the compressor.

I am very happy with the Fatmax and everywhere I go people tell me that the setup is very professional.

My portable stand that I use, is a camping kitchen stand. I already had one that I used when we went camping. So far it has worked great. It has enough space for all my equipment, it folds up so its portable and it's really not that heavy. Best of all it was free (hehe), just goes to show you what you can find when you clean out the garage. Anyways you can find them just about anywhere.
Hopes This Helps

I am using a camping table also. I set everything up on it and it works well. I just thought a table/ storage box that would lock would be nice.

I have been looking at the Fat Max storage box. My one concern is that I would like to carry all my gear, (exept chairs and table) inside that box. On a previous post someone stated they keep there stencils in the top compartment of the Fat Max. What kind of box do you keep the stencils in that will fit in there?

I drilled holes in my fatmax, and it works like a charm!
Thanks for the tip

We downsized to a index card size plastic box. and keep it in the fat max's top portion with out the tool try that comes inside of it.

I agree a portable table that is portable for a woman to carry in a sedan and light. Its nice if we all had a SUV or Van, but the true of matter is that we need to market a nice looking light portable stand to fit in a compact vehicle, and for a mom or one person system that can be handle without any help. I found something in Walmart that is used for kitchen and made a velcro skirt, it has shelves and very light. but yes! We need a portable stand

Thanks for your help!

Thanks! The banner we created and had someone ship to us. My wife designed it on Photoshop. I do not want to step Tats toes, but we have budgets and got a great deal on these banners. The portable stand, has two shelves and is made of light black iron. Unfortunately it does not fold. I am coming up with some ideas. Maybe tats would be interested in hearing me out. I will tell you that your image must look attractive and professional looking. We get a lot complements on our banner and stand.

Thanks
Phil
