what would happen in this section as I was really hoping someone with extensive knowledge in this area would step forward and make a healthy contribution to the rest of us just trying to piece it all together and take the guesswork out of it.
I have posted alot of the marketing information I have gleaned over the past years and I hope everyone has had an opportunity to find something within it that has or will help them navigate the market maze. For me, the hardest part of it all has been trying to determine where my marketing is affective and where I am just spinning my wheels. The one thing I have learned is that nothing I do is wasted. If I tell one person about my business I have potentially reached hundreds. I do Constant Contact emails, postcards, I send thank you emails to past clients, I have listings (mostly free) all over the web, I have my business splashed all over my business vehicle (which is a write-off), I leave my biz card everywhere I go, I talk my biz up everywhere I go, I link to or post my biz info on any airbrush related website that will let me. I do all of this because I know the importance of getting my business in front of my customers.
Now, I understand that there are other ways to market and I think it would be great if each of us could post what it is we do for marketing, no matter how trivial you might think it is. I believe that the only dumb question is the one that isn't asked. This is MerchantCircle and the name says it all. I received an email about this site last week and I immediately signed up. So far I have had 3 calls directly related from this site. You can post to this site even if you don't have a website so please take advantage of this great opportunity. You can do ALOT of cool things on this site. They provide you with a ready-made blog, you can design and offer coupons to customers, send out newsletters, create links to other websites (like all of us linking to each other from here) which will in turn make our businesses stronger and give us better internet ranking.
